Collaborative
for Children raises public awareness
of the importance of the early childhood
years to a child’s future development
and a community’s future success. We
achieve our goals through educational television,
radio and print ads, articles and editorials
in newspapers, educational materials and
websites. Our Early Connections project provides
educational messages through the local media
and through neighborhood-based dissemination
points to provide helpful information to
parents and other adults in the community
about the simple, everyday interactions that
are most important to stimulating healthy
development.
These educational messages
demonstrate a variety of ways to educate, care
for and stimulate positive growth in young
children as well as how to be good consumers
of child care services. The basic messages
encourage parents and caregivers to “talk,
read, sing and play with a child every day.”
